Sacred Heart Preschool is a freestanding and independently licensed preschool. The preschool will serve students from ages three to five. The program will include a variety of programs to engage and challenge children of varying developmental levels. The program will operate between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm; Monday through Friday.

Though the preschool will operate independently from the existing Sacred Heart Elementary School, the curriculum will focus on creating a comfortable transition into the educational program.

The school’s vision includes instruction that far exceeds basic standards as it provides a loving and nurturing environment in which children have the opportunity to explore and learn at a pace that is in line with their social and emotional development. Technology will be standard in our instructional program. This cutting-edge instruction will be enhanced by state-of-the-art technology, such as: Smart TV’s, and iPads, making our preschool the only one of its kind in Monterey County.

Additionally, our curriculum will include standard instruction in family and moral values such as: basic social manners, respect for others, community involvement, and an understanding of the importance of tolerance and charity.

Play is a critical component in various levels of child development. With this in mind, Sacred Heart Preschool will provide an exciting, challenging, and safe outdoor play area. The play area and structure will be designed to encourage imaginative and creative play, physical fitness, social skills, and competitiveness. Our goal is to encourage a love of physical activity that will evolve into a healthy, active adult lifestyle. Of course, safety is of primary concern. It is for this reason that our preschool will cut no corners as we erect top-of-the-line, safe play structure.

Sacred Heart continues to be a leader in Catholic School education embracing over 110 years of existence in the Salinas Valley. For more information, please email Lynn Strange at
